Privacy policy

Listenback is made by Barakat Labs ("we", "us"). It turns a recording of your sales call into a written coaching review. This page explains what we collect, what we do with it, how long we keep it and what we never do.
The short version
- Recordings: we delete your call recording as soon as it has been transcribed.
- Transcripts: kept for 30 days, then deleted automatically.
- AI training: we never use your calls, transcripts or reviews to train any AI model. Our AI providers are not allowed to either.
- Voiceprints: we never create, store or use voiceprints, and never identify anyone by their voice.
- Selling data: we never sell your data or anyone's data on your calls.
- Emails: we never send call content by email. Our emails contain a link only.
Who is responsible for what
- Your account and billing: we decide how this data is used and are responsible for it.
- Your calls: you decide what to upload, and we process it only to give you your review. Under data-protection laws that use these terms, you are the controller of call content and we are your processor.
What we collect
From you:
- Your account: your email address, and your name and phone number if you choose to give them.
- Team and coach accounts: the email addresses of people you invite, and any rep names you add.
- Purchases: your purchase record from Gumroad. That is your email, the product and the amount. We never see your card details.
From your uploads:
- The recording: the audio file you upload. By default we turn it into text on a computer that Barakat Labs runs itself, not through an outside AI provider. It is deleted once transcribed.
- The transcript: the text of your call, with speaker labels that exist only inside that one call (for example "rep" and "other"). The labels are worked out from the words, not from anyone's voice. It is kept for 30 days.
- Your review: the coaching review we create from the call. Before we store a review, we replace the seller's name with "the seller" and any street address with "the property". Reviews are kept until you delete them or your account is deleted.
Automatically:
- Security and spam protection: technical details such as your IP address and browser type, used to keep the service secure, stop abuse and limit free reviews. We store free-review checks as one-way hashes, not raw addresses.
- Analytics: on our public pages (home, sign in, legal pages) we use Vercel Web Analytics to count page views. It is cookieless and collects no personal data: no cookies, no cross-site tracking and no profile of you. It is not loaded on your reviews or your account.
- Cookies: a login cookie that keeps you signed in, and a cookie that tracks your one free review if you use Listenback without an account.
How we use it
- The service: to transcribe your calls, create your reviews, keep track of your talk-time balance and run your account.
- Account emails: login links and "your review is ready" emails.
- Follow-up: if you sign up or give us your email, we may follow up about Listenback. You can ask us to stop at any time. Your contact details are recorded in Barakat Labs' own business system.
- Security: to prevent fraud and abuse, and to meet legal obligations.
Who processes data for us
We use these providers only to run Listenback. Each may process data only on our instructions. The same list is on our subprocessors page.

OpenAI: it receives the transcript text only, never your audio. Under its API terms, data sent through the API is not used to train its models unless a customer opts in, and we do not opt in. OpenAI keeps abuse-monitoring logs for up to 30 days, and longer where the law requires it.
Changes: we will update this list before adding a provider that handles call content. Today all transcription happens on our own computer. Cloud transcription would only start after we add the provider to the subprocessors page and email account holders, at least 14 days before the change.
Where data is stored: these providers run mainly in the United States. Barakat Labs is based in Egypt, and our transcription computer is there too. Your audio travels to it over an encrypted connection and is deleted once transcribed.
Waiting in line: if our transcription computer is offline, your upload waits in a queue until it is back. If it can't be processed within 72 hours, the upload is deleted and you get an email. You aren't charged. You are not charged for a review until it is complete.
How long we keep it

Backups: deleted data can stay in encrypted backups for a short period before those backups are overwritten.
The people on your calls
Your calls include other people, such as the homeowners you speak with. They have not signed up for Listenback.
- Consent is your job. Before you upload, you must confirm you have the right to upload the recording and that everyone on it was told it may be recorded. This is required under our terms.
- We never contact them and never use their information for anything except your review.
- We redact them. Their name and address are replaced in stored reviews.
- They can ask us to delete. If you were recorded on a call uploaded to Listenback, email us and we will help remove it.
Your rights
You can ask us to show, correct, export or delete your data by emailing hello@barakatlabs.com. You can also delete reviews yourself in the app.
Depending on where you live, you may have more rights under laws such as the GDPR or the California Consumer Privacy Act. These include the right to object to processing and to complain to your data-protection authority.
We do not "sell" or "share" personal information as those words are defined in California law.
Children
Listenback is for people 18 and over doing sales work. We do not knowingly collect data from children.
Security
- Encryption: all traffic is encrypted, and data is encrypted at rest by our providers.
- Access: only you, and the owner of the team or coach account you belong to, can open your reviews.
- Anonymous reviews: these are reachable only by their private link, which expires after 7 days.
No system is perfectly secure, but we limit what we keep so there is less to lose.
Changes
If we change this policy, we will update the date above. If a change affects call content, we will email account holders first.
